Histologics, LLC
Histologics LLC is proud to have developed Soft-ECC®, the next best endocervical curette.
The
minimally invasive design of the Soft-ECC® was manufactured with the
patient care experience in mind. The Soft-ECC® design is
intended to fit into most endocervical canals and yield an abundant
biopsy sample.
The ECC procedure is usually performed to remove tissue from the endocervical canal for histological analysis during colposcopy or during the diagnostic work-up of abnormal peri-menopausal or menopausal bleeding.
Clinical trials have been
recently completed and abstracts presented:
Winter,
et al. Proceedings of the Pacific Coast Ob/Gyn Society, 2010.
Winter,
et al. 39th Global Congress of Minimally Invasive Gynecology, 2010.
Clinical Trials have been presented and published:

Proceedings of the 2012 ASCCP Biennial Scientific Meeting. Vol. Sixteen, Number Two, April 2012 Supplement pg. S22

clinical studies are just getting under-way to demonstrate the clinical
utility of Kylon® biopsy fabric that captures tissue during epithelial
curettage or biopsy procedures.

The result of Soft-ECC® curettage are histological. Contrary to cytobrush sampling which is a screening modality, Soft-ECC® curettage produces diagnostic biopsy grade
samples.
